Collaboration for innovative financing of neighborhood businesses

Together with neighborhood businesses, municipalities, housing corporations, and health insurers, members of the SEICA research group are co-creating an innovative financing mechanism that integrates multiple funding streams. This aims to ensure sustainable funding for neighborhood businesses and guaranteed cost savings for the involved parties. This project is an initiative by DAZO, one of 25 projects awarded the Knowledge-in-Action (KIN) grant.

Neighborhood businesses create multiple values through tasks such as green management or energy fixing. In addition to neighborhood residents, also municipalities, health insurers, and housing corporations benefit from the social cohesion and prevention that result from these activities. However, a structural financial contribution from these parties is often lacking. An innovative financing mechanism that integrates multiple funding streams is needed to provide a sustainable financial foundation for the neighborhood enterprise while ensuring cost savings for the funding partners.

DAZO is a collaboration between SEICA (Erasmus University Rotterdam), DeBlauweWij(k)Economie, Alexander Impact BV, and 21 Markets BV.
