On Wednesday 16 September, Prof. Dr. Tine de Moor, Professor of Social Enterprise and Institutions for Collective Action at Erasmus University Rotterdam, will give a lecture at the Seneca Congress “Samen kan het wel”. Her lecture is titled: “Bottom-up care resilience: the role of citizen collectives in the future of healthcare.”

The Seneca Congress brings together researchers, professionals and practitioners to explore how the Netherlands can respond to growing care needs, labour shortages and increasing pressure on society. Central to this year’s programme is the shift from sector-based to area-based approaches, and from “care for” to “care with”.

In her lecture, De Moor will discuss how citizen collectives can contribute to a more resilient and sustainable care system. By taking collective action and organising support within communities, citizens can play an important role in shaping the future of care. Her contribution highlights the importance of creating the right conditions for communities to thrive and for bottom-up initiatives to become part of lasting systemic change.
